The Notre Dame men’s basketball program received its second verbal commitment for the Class of 2012 on Thursday.
Junior small forward Cameron Biedscheid of Cardinal Ritter in St. Louis announced on Thursday that he has committed to Notre Dame.
The 6-foot-6 Biedscheid averaged 18.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals a game as Cardinal Ritter went 27-4 and captured the Missouri Class 3 championship. The small forward made 38.6 percent of his 3-point attempts (22 of 57) and 78.9 percent of his free throws (90 of 114).
He also had an offer from St. Louis University and had received interest from Missouri, among others.
ESPN lists Biedscheid as a four-star prospect and has him as a member of its Super 60 for the 2012 class. He's ranked as the sixth-best small forward in the country and is currently the 26th-ranked player in the country, according to ESPN.
Biedscheid joins small forward Austin Burgett in the Class of 2012 and senior Patrick Connaughton, who committed to the Irish last month for the Class of 2011.
