On Tuesday afternoon, Chris Martin (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) confirmed with Irish Sports Daily, that he has de-committed from Notre Dame, and eliminated the Irish from consideration..
The four-star defensive end, and ESPN top-150 recruit has a top four of California, Florida, Oklahoma and USC.
The, 6-foot-5, 241-pound Martin has already taken official visits to Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Florida, and has one scheduled for California on Dec. 11th. He is hoping to make a final decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Martin was the third player to commit to Notre Dame's 2010 recruiting class, offering his verbal commitment to Charlie Weis and his staff back on National Signing Day in February of 2009. Over the last few months, Martin has been consistent in saying that he would develop backup plans in the event that Weis were dismissed, which is obviously the case now.
Martin also holds scholarship offers from the likes of UCLA,Tennessee, Stanford, Georgia, LSU, Colorado, Oregon and Nebraska.
