Through the fall and into the winter, Archbishop Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller quarterback, and Notre Dame verbal commit Andrew Hendrix, will be writing a guest blog for Irish Sports Daily, chronicling his senior season, while also talking about anything else that comes his way.

Hello Notre Dame Fans, and welcome to my blog!

Another week, and another victory for the Moeller Crusaders football squad. In our pregame prayer service, where we have bible stories and reflections by four players each week, the focus of this week’s game was to blow this team out and get our twos in who have worked just as hard as the starters throughout their four years at Moeller.

Personally, I knew I was going to give 110% to give my fellow classmates a chance to get in and make some plays. Our offense was clicking on all cylinders and the defense was stiff as a board. After one half of play it was 42-7 Moeller over the Findlay Trojans. We had done what we were striving for and blown the game wide open.

I played very well, with pretty good stats to go along with it, but that is not what this game was about. Our seniors who had been through the workouts, through the practices, and helped the starters get ready for the big games would get a chance to go out and play the game they love. I respect nobody in this world more than I do these players. The players that go through the grime and get smacked around in practice to just enjoy the ride, never complaining, and always there if you need them is what the game is about. Without them, I am absolutely positive our team would not be 4-0. That is how much they mean to me, and our team, and it means so much to our squad that we were able to get our backups playing time.

This was a significantly better weekend for college football as well. Although I could not watch the game due to our bus ride up to Findlay on Saturday, from what I hear it was a thriller to the very end! With Moeller’s schedule and our multitude of Saturday games, it kills me to not be able to go to South Bend and see the Irish play again. I would love to get up there and talk to some kids, help recruit a little bit, but it can just never work out! Alex Welch went up this week and I talked to him some about the recruits and how everything went. Apparently our recruiting is going well which is great to hear. With a Notre Dame victory over the Spartans, and top it off with a USC loss, and you have yourself quite a weekend of football!

This next week we play the Mentor Cardinals. This is a team that beat us last year in a sloppy game, and this year we are looking for a little revenge! They are a very sound team with good athletes and good coaching. It is our first home game of the year as well so hopefully we can give our fans something to cheer about at Lockland Stadium! See you next week, and Go Irish!
