Through the fall and into the winter, Archbishop Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller quarterback, and Notre Dame verbal commit Andrew Hendrix, will be writing a guest blog for Irish Sports Daily, chronicling his senior season, while also talking about anything else that comes his way.

Hello Notre Dame Fans, and welcome back to my blog!

Autumn burst through the dog days of summer as the temperature chilled, the breeze stirred, and the country left baseball in the dust! With Friday night lights, Saturday pageantry, and the big show on Sunday, there is nothing better than fall in the Midwest, especially when your teams are winning!

My teams are doing just that!

The Moeller Crusaders battled a tough Highland Park team from Detroit to improve to 6-0, and we are ranked 1st in the city, 2nd in the state, and 11th in the nation. Some people think that we do not deserve our lofty ranking, but this week will tell all. We play Elder High School at The Pit. They are ranked 20th-nationally (third last week until they were knocked off by 10th-rated St Xavier). The Pit, seating over 10,000 people, has been nationally recognized by numerous sources as one of the best places to play a high school football game in the country.

This weekend, two nationally-ranked teams going at it for a league championship on the line, with playoff implications, and bragging rights in a night game with a sellout crowd at the best stadium in the nation, if you can't get pumped for this game, then you clearly don't have a beating pulse.

It is also personal.

I am certainly not going to deal with (Notre Dame verbal commit Alex) Welch for the next five years, hearing about how they beat us at The Pit senior year. That would drive me up a wall! I know a lot of their other players as well, so this game means everything to everyone on both teams. As big as this game is, I know very well, if we win it's nowhere near the end, and if we lose, it's not the end of the world either. Regardless, Friday night is the biggest game of my athletic career, and I cannot wait to take the field, We will have some company as well! Since it is their bye week, Kyle, Jimmy, and Dayne are all coming down to watch the game (Elder is Kyle’s alma mater). How awesome of them to come down and show a little support for me and Welch. No pressure or anything right? This will truly be the most fun night of my life.

Notre Dame has somehow found a way to put me on the edge of my seat yet again! All this drama sure does make good television, but a blowout every once in a while sure wouldn’t hurt one bit! Jimmy is playing incredible football, Golden Tate is playing incredible football, and I will stick by my statement… Kyle Rudolph is the most valuable offensive player in the country. As the Irish continue to win, the Bengals continue to win, and Moeller continues to win, my fall keeps getting better and better! Hopefully all my teams keep rolling and finish the season atop of their respective levels! Tune in next week to see how the mighty men of Moe faired versus the Elder Panthers! Thanks for reading !

Go Irish!
