Many prospects have seen their recruitments blow up this spring and Indianapolis wide receiver Jordan Williams is hoping to see his process explode soon as well.

“It’s going good,” the 6-foot-4, 207-pound receiver from North Central High School said. “It’s picking up with these coaches coming in.”

Williams has already seen coaches from Iowa State, Indiana, Illinois, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan State and Notre Dame at his school during the May evaluation period.

“They want to see my size and get to know me a little bit and invite me to the camps,” said Williams. “They get film and they have to evaluate it and will put an offer on the table depending on the film.”

Mike Elston wanted to check on the same things as the other recruiters.

“They were just seeing how big I was,” said Williams. “They told my coach they like my size and just want to see me in person and based off that, they’ll make a decision.”

Williams already holds an offer from Ball State while Indiana and Northwestern have both indicated an offer could be on the way. Notre Dame is one camp he’s planning on attending, along with Cincinnati, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. “I think that’s it for right now,” said Williams.

He’s excited to get the opportunity to prove himself at the camps.

“I know I’m good, so it’s just me going out there and doing the best I can,” he said. “Hopefully, it’s good enough.”

As an in-state prospect, Williams does have some familiarity with the Irish.

“I just know their football tradition is real good,” he said. “Obviously, being from Indiana, they’re in South Bend. Their business school is one of the tops in the nation. Their academics are good.”

Williams, who runs a 4.5, had 42 catches for more than 800 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. He’s hoping the coaches like what they see when they pop in his film.

“They’re probably going to see potential,” he said. “I got a lot better from last year. They might see some good hands, good speed, can be better. Routes are OK, but he has a lot of potential to play in college.”

Williams is looking to major in business, so that will be a big part of his decision, along with campus life and football. With only one offer to date, Williams isn’t in a huge rush to make a decision.

“I’m probably going to wait until after the summer,” he said. “Probably midseason, I’ll make my decision.”
