Notre Dame has been telling John Montelus that the Irish wanted him to complete their 2013 offensive line recruiting class for some time now and after getting his first look at campus this weekend, the Massachusetts native accepted the offer, according to a source.
Montelus committed to the Irish on Saturday during a three-day visit to campus, giving the Irish their fifth offensive line commitment in the 2013 class and 11th overall.
The 6-foot-5, 295-pounder from Everett, Mass., (Everett High School) also had offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Virginia and West Virginia among others.
It’s been a busy few days for Montelus. He visited Florida earlier in the week and named the Gators his leader before returning to Massachusetts to make the drive out to South Bend on Thursday.
