Saturday was a busy day for Brandon Fritts as the 2014 Ohio tight end/wide receiver Brandon Fritts took an unofficial visit to South Bend to see Notre Dame play Michigan.
“It was real good. It was a lot of fun,” the Mentor, Ohio prospect said. “We did a lot of stuff.
“We got there and registered. Then we went and watched some highlights and they talked to us for a little bit. Then we ate and went down to the Walk and then we went down to the field before we watched the game.”
Walking into the stadium with the players made an impression on Fritts.
“It was sweet,” he said. “There were so many people lined up in this huge line.”
The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder had a chance to speak with fellow 2014 Ohio prospect Jimmy Byrne before enjoying the Irish’s win over the Wolverines.
“It was awesome,” he said. “The atmosphere was crazy. It wasn’t the best offensive game, but it was a great game to watch.”
Despite the lackluster offensive effort, Fritts left with a good impression of the Irish’s offense.
“I like their offense,” he said. “I saw that they use two tight ends a lot. That’s what I hope to be doing when I play in college.”
Fritts had the chance to speak with some members of the Notre Dame staff before the game.
“I talked to a couple coaches,” he said. “They said to just keep working hard and stuff and that they’ll come and find me.”
Fritts has already made trips to West Virginia and Pittsburgh has one more visit planned this month.
“I may be going to the Michigan State-Ohio State game.”
