Well, it did and he did.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder from Delray Beach, Fla., offered his commitment to the Irish on Saturday night, giving them 22 verbal commitments in the Class of 2013 and a much-coveted running back.
Bryant made an early commitment to Oklahoma, but backed away from that pledge this summer. Notre Dame emerged as an option last month and the momentum has moved the Irish from option to favorite with Tony Alford leading the charge.
Bryant gives the Irish a pair of running back commits in the class, joining Texas’ Jamel James, but James has flirted with the idea of taking other visits and still may need to do some work in the classroom. Either way, Notre Dame is still aggressively pursuing another Florida running back, Tarean Folston.
We’ll have much more on this development soon.
