A source has confirmed to Irish Sports Daily that linebacker prospect Alex Anzalone has decommitted from Notre Dame and plans to enroll at Florida this week. Anzalone was scheduled to be one of six prospects to enroll early at Notre Dame this weekend, but the uncertainty regarding Brian Kelly's future in South Bend caused the Pennsylvania linebacker to reverse course at a very late stage.
Anzalone flirted with the Gators after committing to the Irish in the summer and even took an official visit to Gainesville in October. He was close to flipping to Florida following that visit, but a trip back to South Bend helped convince Anzalone that Notre Dame was the spot for him. That was Anzalone's plan all last week during the Under Armour All-America Game and that was his plan as late as Tuesday, following the Irish's blowout loss in the BCS National Championship Game.
